HV hammers Elizabethton

   Happy Valley scored 16 runs in four innings to destroy Elizabethton 16-0 in prep baseball action Friday at Cannon-Gouge Park.
   Shawn Baer and Cody Cannon each led the Warrior onslaught, going 2-for-3 with two RBI's. Daniel Bach was also 2-for-3 and Lamar Rollins went 3-for-4 in the contest. Tim Whaley added a round-tripper for the Warriors, who improved to 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the Watauga Conference with the win.
   Britton Brumitt was on the mound in the winning effort, allowing only one hit. Elizabethton was left still searching for their first conference win at 0-3 and is 1-4 overall.
   It was the second win of the day for the Warriors, following a 10-7 triumph over University High earlier.
   In that game, Lamar Rollins hit a two-run home run and Forrest Holt had two hits for HV. Tim Whaley was the winning pitcher, scattering eight hits and seven runs over seven innings.
