North edges LADY RANGERS

Sullivan North scored three runs in the fourth
inning to take a 3-2 win over Unaka in girls' high school
softball action on Monday.
The Lady Rangers (2-1) were led offensively by
Emily Elliott, wh went two for three and Danielle Carr who
was 1-for-3 with a double. Amanda Wilson scored both of the
Unaka runs as a courtesy runner for Elliott.
Carr was credited with the loss, although her
and relief pitcher Danielle Williams only allowed four hits,
while striking out four batters.
The next game for the Lady Rangers will be today
when they go to North Greene. They return home on Wednesday
to face University High before getting ready for a road trip
to Summerville, South Carolina to take part in a tournament
starting on Sunday.
