Lady Bucs sweep UNC-G

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Centerfielder Danielle Spetar
went 4-of-7 with four RBIs and two home runs over two games
to lead East Tennessee State to a sweep over UNC-Greensboro
in a Southern Conference doubleheader Saturday at UNCG's softball
field.
The Lady Bucs pummeled the Lady Spartans 13-2
in game one, then completed the sweep by winning 4-3 in the
nightcap.
ETSU was only ahead 4-2 going into the top of
the seventh inning in game one, but the Lady Bucs exploded
for nine runs in that frame to seal the deal.
The inning included a three-run homer by Spetar,
and a solo homer from Tiffany Vandergriff.
Former Unicoi County standout Lindsay Lane also
knocked one out of the park for ETSU.
Courtney Jenkins allowed only five hits to earn
the complete game victory.
Vandergriff shined on the mound in game two,
allowing just two runs over five innings to earn her third
win of the season. Vandergriff also hit a three-run blast
in the fifth inning.
Spetar was 2-of-3 with an RBI homer to lead the
Lady Bucs.
The two teams will finish the series today at
1 p.m.
