Lipscomb survives Buffaloes

   NASHVILLE -- The Milligan College baseball team fell at NCAA Division I David Lipscomb by the score of 7-6 Thursday afternoon.
   The Buffaloes held a 6-5 lead going into the bottom of the ninth inning, but let the lead get away.
   The losing pitcher was freshman Ryan Connor. Senior Todd Speas pitched the first seven innings for the Buffaloes, only allowing three runs.
   Leading the way for Milligan at the plate was junior third baseman Dustin Price, who had a two-run scoring double; freshman Kory Kinnear with two RBIs; and junior Nathan Chandler, who was 2-for-4 with two doubles.
   Next for Milligan will be a road trip to open the Appalachian Athletic Conference season at Brevard (N.C.). The two teams are scheduled to play a 1 p.m. doubleheader this Saturday, followed by a single game on Sunday afternoon starting at 2.
