Rangers clinch WVC at Clinch

from staff reports
EIDSON--The Rangers of Unaka made it an official "clinch" on Wednesday afternoon.
Unaka clinched at Clinch, meaning the outright Watauga Valley Conference basketball championship now belongs to the Rangers.
Unaka raced out to a 26-10 lead after one quarter on its way to a 77-28 victory, the seventh consecutive season in which the Rangers have won outright or shared the conference title.
Tyler McCann, who the previous night had scored 14 in the tough loss at Cloudland, led the Rangers with 13 points.
Junior forward/wingman, Chase Reeves and newcomer, Matt Walsh each contributed 12 points to the Ranger cause. Josh Jones was the other Ranger in double figures with 10.
The win makes official what most had expected: Unaka becomes the number one seed in the upcoming district tournament to be held at Lacy Fieldhouse on the Milligan College campus later this month.
