Buffs best Montreat; Lady Buffs fall short

   MONTREAT, NC -- The Milligan College Buffaloes defeated Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Montreat by the score of 82-75 Tuesday evening.
   The win raises Milligan's record to 11-13 overall and 10-7 in the AAC season.
   Milligan was led by senior forward Jonathon Harris with 17 points in the contest, while guards Michael Morrell and Eric Coggins each added 15 points. Sophomore guard JaKeith Hairston contributed 10 points in the win.
   Montreat's leading scorer was Ben Griffith with 17 points, while Noble Anthony scored 13 points.
   The next game for Milligan will be home against AAC rival UVA-Wise Thursday evening at 7:30.
   The Milligan Lady Buffs basketball team fell to Montreat by the score of 82-67 in Appalachian Athletic Conference action Tuesday evening.
   The loss drops Milligan to a 7-18 overall and 6-11 in the AAC season, while Montreat rises to 4-20 and 4-13 in the conference.
   For Milligan, sophomore guard Kari Stout led with 18 points, while freshman forward Kacie Letterman added 12 points and Joy Clark threw in 11 points.
   Montreat was led by senior guard Julie Buchanan with a game high of 31 points. Milligan held a two-point halftime lead of 36-34 to see Montreat outscore them by 17 in the second half.
   Next for the Milligan women will be an AAC matchup with UVA-Wise on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. at Milligan College.
