ETSU divides doubleheader from staff reportsShane Byrne belted a grand slam while Andy Howdeshell, Caleb Moore and Steven Calicutt also homered as ETSU defeated Binghamton 13-3 in the opening game of a college baseball doubleheader at Cardinal Park on Saturday afternoon. Binghamton captured the second game, 15-7. Howdeshell, whose homer went for a three-run shot, Kevin Brotherton and Justin Clear had two hits apiece for the Buccaneers in the opener, and starter Tim Turner (1-0) allowed two runs (one earned) over five innings to get the win. Turner struck out seven. Calicutt tagged another home in game 2, in which ETSU's Chad Boruff batted 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Clear once again accounted for two hits. The Bucs and Bearcats close out their weekend series with a single game at 1 p.m. today at Cardinal Park. | |||||||
