Milligan drops season opener

   Mars Hill collected 18 hits in only five innings to spoil the 2002 debut of the Milligan College softball team, winning 16-8 on Monday afternoon at Anglin Field.
   The Lady Buffs were scheduled for a doubleheader, but the umpires called the second game due to cold weather.
   Freshman Brooke Davis led the Lady Buffs, going 2-for-3 with a double and triple, scoring two runs. Andrea Henriott also went 2-for-3, with a pair of runs scored.
   Ashley Fine took the loss on the mound. She had three strikeouts and three walks.
   Milligan plays host to Tusculum College on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
