Bucs succumb to Gamecocks from staff reportsCOLUMBIA, S.C. -- Yaron Peters had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and South Carolina's 16-hit attack featured four solo home runs as the Gamecocks defeated East Tennessee State 14-5 to sweep a three-game series on Sunday afternoon. Garris Conce, Landon Powell, Justin Harris and Brian Buscher homered for South Carolina (6-0). Matt Traylor and Michael Girould had two hits apiece to pace an 11-hit Buccaneer attack. Jeremy Terry and David Burkin had doubles for ETSU, which dropped to 0-3 on the young season. The Buccaneers open their home schedule by hosting North Carolina A&T in a double-header this Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. | |||||||
