Elizabethton drops pair in junior
varsity games

The Elizabethton boys and girls junior
varsity teams must have felt like Custer at the Battle of
Bull Run as Dobyns-Bennett scalped the Cyclones in both contest.
The JV Lady Cyclones were defeated in a narrow
contest 38-35 after fighting back to take a 24-22 lead after
three periods.
Valneesha Redd paced the Cyclones with 14 while
Valerie Kauffeld collected 9 for Coach Harry Farthings squad.
Jordan Crowe canned two big treys in the fourth to give EHS
a shot at victory in the closing minutes.
In the boys contest, the undefeated Indian JV
squad remained perfect at 24-0 for the season as they methodically
dismantled the Cyclones 67-43.
Eleven Indians scored at least one bucket in
the game and were paced by Dustin Gaines with 12.
Brad Brown had a tremendous game for the Cyclones
as he came off the bench to pump in 11 big points on the night.
Adam Turley paced the Cyclones with 14 and Michael Porter
connected for 10.
