TAD deals Unicoi Co. early exit

   ERWIN--T.A. Dugger scored a 36-32 overtime win over Unicoi County Thursday night in the first round of the Middle Eight Conference Jr. High tournament.
   Down 18-11 at the half and 25-14 entering the fourth quarter, TAD outscored Unicoi 15-4 in the fourth to send the game into overtime. In the extra period, the Junior Cyclones outscored the Patriots 7-3.
   Bo Carter led the way for T.A. Dugger with 14 points, and Ryan Green added 12. Brent Thomas with five, Aaron Bradford with four and Wendall Loving with a single point rounded out the scoring for the Orange and Black.
   It was a big win for the Junior Cyclones, who came into the tournament as the No. 7 seed. The Patriots were the No. 2 seed, losing the No. 1 seed as the result of a coin flip.
   The Junior Cyclones are scheduled to tip off in their semifinal game at 8 p.m. on Monday night at Indian Trail.
