Lead, game slips away from Buffs
BARBOURVILLE, KY -- The Union College Bulldogs rallied from
a 15-point deficit to defeat the Milligan College Buffaloes
77-70 on Tuesday night.
Leading the way for Milligan was senior Jonathon
Harris, with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Leading 36-21 at the half, Milligan surrendered
a 16-3 run and then went on a 10-2 scoring drive to push the
lead back to 10. Over the next six and a half minutes, Union
went on a 20-0 run, which put them ahead 59-49.
Milligan tried to rally back when they got within
three with 51 seconds left, but Union scored six of the final
eight points to seal the victory.
Eric Coggins scored 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting
from 3-point range. Michael Morrell and Scott Ferguson both
scored eight points for the Buffaloes.
Joe Bramlage scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds
and Aaron Troutman scored 12 points with 10 rebounds to lead
Union.
Milligan falls to 9-9 on the year, and 8-3 in
the league. Milligan returns to the floor Thursday when they
host AAC rival Montreat. Tipoff is set for 7:30.
