Buffs fall to Rams

   BLUEFIELD, Va. --The Milligan College basketbll team was defeated at Bluefield (Va.) College, 78-68, Thursday night.
   The Buffaloes are now 7-2 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, while playing .500 overall at 8-8. The Rams of Bluefield are currently 9-3 in conference play and 11-9 overall.
   Senior guard Michael Morrell, with 16 points, led the balanced-scoring Buffs, who had five players in double figures. Fellow senior Jonathon Harris scored 13, sophomore forward JaKeith Hairston added 12, and junior guard Eric Coggins and junior forward Craig Emmert each scored 10 points.
   Forward Mookie Holmes was the leading scorer for the Rams of Bluefield with 24 points.
   Milligan actually managed to outscore Bluefield by two at the halfway point, 38-36. But behind Holmes, the Rams won the second half by 12.
   The Buffs were without the services of junior point guard Scott Ferguson, who sat out for disciplinary reasons.
   Milligan will play host to Bryan (Tn.) College at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse at Milligan College.
