Lady Buffs top Pikeville

   Former Hampton standouts Kari Stout, Ginny White and Amanda Greene combined for 30 points in Milligan's 73-61 win over Pikeville at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on Thursday night.
   For the Lady Buffs, who improved to 3-11, Ann Marie Gardner scored a game high 14 points. Stout added 13 and White scored 11 with a 3-for-5 performance from behind the three-point line.
   Leading the way for Pikeville was Amelia Cody with 13 points.
   Milligan opened the game with an 11-2 run over the first five minutes. Pikeville closed the gap to 4 before Milligan extended the lead to 8 at the ten minute mark.
   With over six minutes left in the half, Pikeville took a 21-20 lead. They pushed the lead to three before a trey by Gardner knotted the game at 25-apiece. By the half, the Lady Buffs had reassumed a 33-28 lead.
   In the second half, Milligan pushed the lead out to 15 points. The closest Pikeville managed to shrink the lead to was five after that. Stout capped off the game with a 3-pointer for the final score.
   Next on the docket for the Lady Buffs is an Appalachian Athletic Conference game against Covenant at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
