Buffs fall victim to Union College

   BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- In spite of a 29-point, 15-rebound showing from Craig Emmert, Milligan dropped an 84-80 contest to Union College in an AAC contest Tuesday night.
   Jakeith Hairston (13 points), Michael Morrell (12) and Jonathon Harris (11) also scored in double figures for the Buffs, who slipped to 4-7 in conference action and 8-12 overall.
   While the Buffs shot a respectable 44 percent from the floor, Union was really on its mark, hitting 53 percent of its shots.
   Aaron Troutman paced the Bulldogs (6-7, 6-17) with 24 points, including five 3-pointers. Joe Bramiage (9 rebounds) added 14 points, with D.J. Washington tallied 12 and Patrick Durham 10.

   Failing to keep a handle on a one-point halftime lead (37-36), the Lady Buffs succumbed to the Lady Bulldogs in the opening game of the evening.
   Kari Stout was tops for Milligan with 17 points and five assists, while Ginny White and Joy Clark chipped in 11 points apiece. White dished out five assists, and Amanda Hammons pulled down 10 rebounds.
   Melinda Burke scored a game-high 19 for Union, which got 11 from Amanda Vance.
   Milligan entertains Montreat College on Thursday.
