UVa-Wise tops Milligan

WISE, Va. -- Riding strong performances from
Tony McDonald and Zack Moore, UVa-Wise overcame an 11-point
halftime deficit to defeat Milligan 70-66 in AAC basketball
action from Tuesday night.
McDonald totaled 17 points and seven rebounds
while Moore amassed 16 points and 11 boards for the Cavaliers.
Bobby Hedrick added 13 points and Jeremy Houseright 10 to
the winning effort.
The Buffaloes, who led 43-32 at the break, were
led by Craig Emmert with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Jonathon
Harris also had a productive night, totaling 18 points, nine
rebounds and six assists.
Michael Morrell chipped in 13 points, including
three 3-pointers, for Milligan.

Milligan only trailed by a bucket (26-24) at
the half, but watched the Lady Cavaliers take control following
the break.
Melissa Barnes, with 20 points and 10 rebounds,
showed the way for UVa-Wise, which got 12 points from Suzie
Burns and 10 points from Caroline Baca.
Joy Clark had 12 points and six boards for the
Lady Buffs, with Ginny White collecting 11 points, three 3-pointers,
six boards and four assists.
Milligan's Kari Stout also tallied 11.
