Lady Buccaneers surprise Western

Adrienne Walker scored a game-high 16 points
and Jessica Lonon added 14 as the Lady Bucs upset Western
Carolina 82-74 in a Southern Conference game on Monday at
Memorial Center.
ETSU led 43-37 at the break and held on for their
first conference win of the season.
"It feels good to get that first conference win,"
Lady Bucs head coach Karen Kemp said after the game. "Life
on the road is tough, and we hope to make it that way for
our opponents when they play us here."
The Lady Bucs improved to 4-10 overall (1-4 SoCon),
while the Lady Catamounts fell to 10-4 (3-2 SoCon).
Misty Copas added 13 points while junior guard
Kiya Verdell grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds to go along with
her eight points, three blocked shots and three steals.
Tiffany Hamm, Jennifer Gardner and Yaneko Allen
each tallied 15 in the 'Cats' losing effort.
East Tennessee State remains at home for a 1
p.m. game on Saturday, Jan. 18 versus College of Charleston.
