Cloudland turns back CAK

Josh Johnson scored 27 points, 25 of them in
the first half, leading Cloudland to a 60-59 non-conference
win over Christian Academy of Knoxville at Sonny Smith Gymnasium
on Saturday.
The Highlanders (6-7) opened up a double-digit
lead in the first half, but had to hang on for the win as
CAK rallied in the closing minutes.
Mark Byrd netted 14 and Aaron Stocton chimed
in with eight as the other high scorers for the 'Landers,
who return to action on Monday, when they travel to Johnson
County.

The Lady Highlanders rolled to the easy win taking
a 27-3 lead at the end of one quarter and a 47-5 lead at the
intermission.
Cloudland got three treys apiece from Tara Hanson
and Stacia Johnson leading the way for the offense. Hanson
was the game's high scorer with 12 points, while Johnson was
one point behind with 11.
Jessica Lunsford and Heather Banner, both of
whom scored eight points and Jessica McGuire were the other
leading producers for the Cloudland offense.
With the win, the Lady 'Landers stayed on a school-record
pace with their 14th win of the season against only one loss.
Like the boys, the girls will travel to Johnson County on
Monday night.
