Rams upend Buffs, 78-70

   BLUEFIELD, Va. -- Leading all the way until the eight-minute mark of the second half, Milligan lost its grip on an Appalachian Athletic Conference upset, losing 78-70 to Bluefield College on Saturday night.
   Fouls became a factor for the Buffs (9-9, 4-5) as two starters fouled out with more than six minutes to go.
   A big deciding factor came at the charity stripe, where the Rams (15-7, 10-2) hit 15-of-21 and Milligan 5-of-6.
   Milligan, which visits King on Tuesday, got a strong performance from Michael Morrell, who scored 23 points on the strength of 9-of-15 shooting. Morrell shot 5-of-8 from 3-point land.
   Lance Ashby and A.J. Hamler contributed 18 and 12 points, respectively, for the Buffs.
   Dimingo Hale topped the Rams with 22 points. Dale Evans (15), Charles Somerville (13) and Derrick Price (10) scored in double figures.
