Arrests

   * Benjamin "Benny" Franklin Burton, 55, 337 Old Milligan Highway, Apt. 9, Johnson City, was arrested Wednesday evening by Carter County Sheriff's Department Dean Jones and charged with assault under domestic violence. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on July 28.
   * David Allen Blevins, 19, 116 Archway Court, was arrested Wednesday night by CCSD Deputy Kevin Cable on a warrant charging him with violation of probation. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court today.
   * Brian Keith Tolley, 23, 213 Jim Elliott Road, was arrested Wednesday by CCSD Deputy Jesse Booher on a warrant charging him with violation of probation. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court today.
   * Asa Ray Ward, 60, 910 1/2 Cedar Ave., was arrested Wednesday morning by Elizabethton Police Department Sgt. John Bailey on a warrant charging him with violating an active order of protection.
   * Michael J. Byrd, 30, 1310 Knob Creek Road, Johnson City, was arrested Wednesday morning by EPD Ptl. Michael Merritt and charged with speeding, driving on a revoked license and violation of the financial responsibility law. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on July 29.
   * Doris Hall, 613 Hamilton St., Johnson City, 49, was arrested Thursday by Johnson City Police Department officers and charged with domestic aggravated assault for allegedly running over her husband with a car. Hall is currently being held in the Washington County Detention Center awaiting a preliminary hearing set for today.
  
Theft

   * Timothy C. Rutherford, 143 Bulldog Hollow, reported to CCSD Lt. Harvey Guess that sometime between 12:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, someone broke into his residence and had stolen a Brinks safe valued at $500 which contained approximately $5,000 in cash.
   * Leslie Tolley, 1545 Southside Road, reported to EPD Ptl. Mark Roberts that she is in the process of moving out of Lynnridge Apartments to the residence on Southside Road and that sometime between July 17 and July 19, someone entered her apartment at Lynnridge and had stolen approximately $2,000 in jewelry, an article of clothing and some prescription medication belonging to her.
