Accident

* A single vehicle accident on Coal Shute Road near Walnut Hills trailer park sent two children to a local hospital on Wednesday afternoon. CCSD Deputy Rick Taylor reported a Chevy Corsica driven by Charles Hurley Davis, 48, 343 Sims Hill Road, struck a telephone pole. The two boys riding in the vehicle, ages 7 and 8, sustained minor injuries in the accident. Police declined to release their names pending notification of another family member. Both children were transported to Johnson City Medical Center by the Carter County Rescue Squad, police said. Taylor said intoxicants did not appear to have contributed to the accident.
