Arrests
* Mathew David Taylor, 19, 1572 Sugar
Creek Road, Mountain City, was arrested Wednesday evening
by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy T. Blevins on
a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court. He
is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court today.
* Ricky Lee McClure, 35, 102 Forrest Lane, was
arrested Wednesday morning by CCSD Sgt. Penny Cornett on a
warrant out of Sevier County charging him with failure to
appear to serve jail time.
* James Scott White, 20, 2113 Highland Ave.,
Johnson City, was arrested Wednesday just before Noon by CCSD
Deputy Fred Sluder on a warrant charging him with violation
of probation. He is scheduled to appear in court today.
* Brandy Pruitt, 28, 119 Fitzsimmons Hill Road,
was arrested Wednesday afternoon by CCSD Deputy Janice Black
on a warrant out of Criminal Court charging her with food
stamp fraud. She is scheduled to appear in General Sessions
Court March 25.
* Angela Kay Palmer, 30, 174 Lynnwood Ave., was
arrested early Thursday morning by Elizabethton Police Department
Sgt. Roger Crowe and charged with DUI.
* Matthew J. Berry, 44, 115 Honeycutt St., was
arrested Wednesday night by EPD PTL Tonya Range and charged
with assault under domestic violence, vandalism under domestic
violence and public intoxication. He is scheduled to appear
in General Sessions Court March 24.
* Jennifer L. Little, 25, 1060 Rittertown Road,
was arrested Thursday by Johnson City Police Department Officer
M. Barron on charges of auto burglary. Arrest came after investigation
of an altercation that Ms. Little was involved in at the Northside
Hospital parking lot. She is being held in the Washington
County Detention Center on $1,000 bond.
Theft
* Danny Baird, 272 Cripple Creek Loop, reported
to CCSD Deputy Jim Whaley that sometime Wednesday afternoon,
someone entered his residence and stole two ladies diamond
rings with gold bands. Also taken from his property was a
Billy Cook saddle. The total estimated value for the property
that was stolen is $2,650.
* Casey Blevins, 100 Ross Jenkins Road, reported
to CCSD Lt. Bob Hooks that someone stole a starter and a 14.4
volt drill from his truck while it was parked at his residence.
* An employee of Smith Mobile Homes, 2625 Elizabethton
Highway, reported to EPD Capt. Clyde Croy that sometime during
Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, someone broke into
a mobile home on the lot and stole more than $850 worth of
furniture including a coffee table, two end tables, a dining
room table with four chairs, an oak night stand and the head
and foot boards for two beds. Also, $300 in damage to the
mobile home was also reported.
* Billy Collins, 700 Johnson Ave., reported to
EPD PTL Shannon Peters that during the early morning hours
on Tuesday, someone stole a vehicle belonging to him from
his residence. The car is described as a silver, four-door
1988 Ford Tempo.
Animal Cruelty
* James M. Case, 654 Long Hollow Road,
reported to CCSD Deputy Sarah Ryan that sometime between 7
a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, someone shot his eight-month-old
Beagle. According to reports, the dog was badly injured and
would need to have one leg amputated and may die as a result
of the injury. The veterinarian that cared for the animal
advised the officer that the bullet was most likely from a
.22 caliber firearm.
