Arrests
* Phillip Steven Presnell, 46, 101 Hill
Road, Apt. 3, Johnson City, was arrested Tuesday afternoon
by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Sarah Ryan and
charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He
is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court Feb. 4. Presnell
was also served with an order of protection and a capias warrant
charging him with failure to appear in court on assault charges.
* Matthew Cody Pilkington, 19, Lynnwood
Apartments, CD Building, was arrested Monday evening by CCSD
Inv. Laverne Julian and charged with aggravated burglary and
theft over $500. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions
Court Feb. 3.
* James Douglas Jones, 32, 197 Carl Smith Road,
Hampton, was arrested Tuesday morning by CCSD Constable Bobby
Canter on an outstanding warrant charging him with violation
of probation.
* Connie Marsha Kinnick, 48, 880 Collins Road,
Greeneville, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by CCSD Lt. Bob
Hooks on an outstanding warrant. She is scheduled to appear
in General Sessions Court Jan. 31.
* Simon Joseph Clawson, 28, U.S. Highway 19E,
Roan Mountain, was arrested Tuesday by CCSD Constable Bobby
Canter on outstanding warrants charging him with assault under
domestic violence, reckless endangerment, criminal simulation
and theft under $500. He is scheduled to appear in General
Sessions Court Feb. 2.
* Robin Glenn Clawson, 31, 1171 Buck Mountain
Road, Roan Mountain, was arrested Tuesday evening by CCSD
Deputy Bradley Johnson on capias warrants charging her with
failure to appear in court and two counts of the sale of Schedule
II narcotics.
* Mark A. Reed, 41, 3223 McKinley Road, was arrested
Tuesday by officers of the Johnson City Police Bureau and
charged with attempted first-degree murder. The arrest stems
from an investigation into an incident that occurred on Jan.
23 in Johnson City. According to reports, the victim, John
Harris, was struck with a concrete block while traveling in
his vehicle on West Market Street.
Theft
* James E. Bowers, 309 S. Second St., reported
to Elizabethton Police Department PTL Joey Proffitt that sometime
in the last three weeks, someone entered his residence and
stole the titles to a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina and a 1994 Dodge
Caravan as well as a CB Radio, a socket set, a watch and seven
quart jars. The estimated value of the stolen property is
$270.
* Tim Morgan, 133 Harrison Street Hollow
Road, Roan Mountain, reported to CCSD Deputy Jeff Markland
that someone had stolen three extension ladders from some
property he owns at Ripshin Lake. The estimated value of the
ladders is $900. Morgan reported that he has suspects in the
incident.
* Raymond Kempton, 115 Waycaster Road, Hampton,
reported to CCSD Lt. B. L. Huffman on Tuesday evening that
someone had stolen the radio out of a 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier
that was parked in his yard. He reported that he saw a male
subject running away from the vehicle and that he attempted
to chase the subject but could not catch him.
