Arrests
* Joshua C. Reece, 18, 409 Brandon St., Apt.
F, was arrested by Elizabethton Police Department PTL Michael
Merritt Tuesday afternoon and charged with speeding, reckless
driving and driving on a suspended license. He is scheduled
to appear in General Sessions Court Jan. 17.
* Gary L. Fortner, 47, Newland, N.C., was arrested
Wednesday night by EPD PTL Jennifer Mayberry and charged with
second offense DUI and violation of the implied consent law.
He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court Jan. 21.
* Danita Whitehead, 41, 217 Mountain View Circle,
was arrested Wednesday afternoon by Carter County Sheriff's
Department Deputy Kevin Cable on a capias warrant charging
her with failure to appear in court. She is scheduled to appear
in General Sessions Court Jan. 17.
* Pedro S. Harrera, 32, 302 S. Sycamore St.,
was arrested Wednesday by CCSD Lt. Rocky Croy and charged
with public intoxication. He is scheduled to appear in General
Sessions Court Jan. 17.
* Robert Dayton Stills, Jr., 26, 123 Rittertown
Road, was arrested early Thursday morning by CCSD Deputy Fred
Sluder on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.
He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court Jan. 17.
* Wayne Monroe Bennett, 25, 162 Old Lacey Hollow
Road, was arrested Wednesday by Johnson City Police Bureau
officers and charged with aggravated assault and shoplifting.
* Mary Gail Ashby, 32, 162 Old Lacey Hollow Road,
was arrested Wednesday by Johnson City Police Bureau officers
and charged with aggravated assault and shoplifting.
* Johnson City Police Bureau arrested five juveniles
and charged them with aggravated burglary in connection with
the Jan. 13 burglary of a residence at 832 Dyer St., Johnson
City. The juveniles have been released to their parents pending
a hearing, according to reports, and the arrest of another
juvenile is imminent. Reports state that the property which
was stolen has been recovered and additional charges are pending
at this time.
Theft
* Terry McKeehan, 293 Cash Hollow Road, Johnson
City, reported to CCSD Sgt. Ken Dugger that around 1:30 Wednesday
afternoon, he saw someone at his brother Joey McKeehan's residence
at 294 Cash Hollow Road stealing a go-cart that belonged to
his brother. He described the individual as being a five feet,
eight inch tall white male, heavy set, with a short beard.
He gave the officer a description of the vehicle he saw leaving
with the go-cart.
* David Lyons, 180 Old Stoney Creek Highway,
Lot 11, reported to CCSD Deputy Kevin Cable that on Tuesday,
someone entered his residence and stole several items. According
to reports, entry was made to the residence by prying open
the door in the rear side of the home. Listed among the missing
items were an RCA 19 inch television, two Sony VCRs, a stereo,
a Nintendo 64 game system and approximately 10 games, as well
as a bottle of prescription medication. The estimated total
value of the items stolen is more than $675.
* Lester Birchfield, 120 Minton Hollow Road,
reported to CCSD Lt. Rocky Croy that sometime on Wednesday,
someone had stolen $100 and some prescription medication from
his home. He reported that he had been at the residence and
that several people known to him had visited him during the
day but he does not know when the items were stolen or who
could have taken them.
