Arrests
* Charles Hurley Davis, 48, 343 Sims Hill Road,
was arrested by Elizabethton Police Department PTL Tonya Range,
EPD Sgt. Roger Crowe and Drug Task Force Agent Gregory Workman
Monday evening and charged with possession of Schedule VI
narcotics for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
* Charles Jacobs, 36, 1256 Bluefield Ave., Apt.
F8, was arrested by EPD Sgt. Roger Crowe and Drug Task Force
Agent Gregory Workman Monday evening and charged with possession
of Schedule II narcotics for resale, possession of Schedule
VI narcotics for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
* Heather Shell, 23, 205 Big Valley Drive,
Lot 60, was arrested Tuesday by officers from the Johnson
City Police Bureau and charged with theft of property over
$10,000. She is scheduled to appear in Washington County General
Sessions Court on Jan. 15.
* Benny Edmund Phillips, 44, 1128 Rittertown
Road, Hampton, was arrested Monday by CCSD Dep. Kevin Cable
and charged with assault under domestic violence and theft
under $500.
* Billie Jean Long, 41, Lynnwood Apt. #6, was
arrested Monday by CCSD Sgt. Audrey Covington and charged
with introduction of contraband into a penal institution.
* Eric Nathinel Stump, 20, 536 Teaberry Road.,
Roan Mountain, was arrested Monday by CCSD Dep. Johnny Miller
and charged with fishing without a license.
* Diana Ricker Hatley, 39, 110 McCloud Road,
was arrested Monday by CCSD Dep. Kenny Cornett and charged
with DUI, third offense driving on a suspended license, and
violation of the implied consent law.
Theft
* Paul Stines, 1116 Happy Valley Road, reported
to EPD Sgt. Roger Crowe that sometime between 5:30 a.m. and
just after 7 p.m. on Monday, someone had entered his residence
and stolen a Sharp Stereo with three speakers attached to
it, a Fisher Stereo System with a five disc changer, and a
1987 Suzuki RM 250cc motorcycle. The total estimated value
of the property stolen is $1,850. According to reports, entry
was made to the home by prying open the screen door and breaking
out a window in the main door to the residence.
* Kathy Scalf, circulation manager for the
Elizabethton Star, reported to EPD PTL Michael Sproviero that
sometime between 4 a.m and 8 p.m. Sunday, someone had stolen
a newspaper box from the Milligan Post Office. The paper box
is valued at $200.
Fire
* Members of the Roan Mountain Volunteer Fire
Department responded to a trailer fire at 750 Hampton Creek
Road Monday evening around 5:30 p.m. Hampton Volunteer Fire
Department firefighters, as well as emergency workers from
the Carter County Rescue Squad and officers from the Carter
County Sheriff's Department also responded. According to reports,
the trailer was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters
arrived. Owned by Dawn Marie Cook, the trailer was uninhabited
at the time of the fire and was a total loss. The cause of
the fire has not yet been determined.
