Arrests

* Joe Steven Coffman, 46, 817 Riverview Dr., was arrested Monday by Elizabethton Police Department Watch Commander Rusty Verran and charged with driving under the influence, violation of the light law and violation of the implied consent law. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Friday, Dec. 19 at 9 a.m.
   * Christopher J. Heaton, 19, 2000 Southside Rd., was arrested Monday by EPD Ptl. Mike Commons and charged with violation of probation.
   * Brian D. Treadway, 21, 185 Sunrise Dr., was arrested Tuesday by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Kenny Cornett and charged with failure to appear in court, assault and theft.
   * Joseph P. Caldwell, Jr., 112 Cindy Dr., Johnson City, was arrested Monday by CCSD Officer Dean Jones and charged with assault under domestic violence. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court Dec. 29.

Shoplifting

* Employees at Whites Fresh Foods, 700 Stateline Rd., called the Elizabethton Police Department Monday after they stopped a woman for shoplifting. EPD Ptl. Joy Shoun arrived at the store, where a security employee told her that Ms. Pamela Yvonne Small, 1436 Bristol Hwy., had put three packages of White Lilly muffin mix and one canister of Coffee Mate Coffee Creamer in her purse. The total value of the items was $4.86. Shoun issued Small a citation for shoplifting. Small is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court Dec. 30.
