* John Wayne Elliott, 56, 166 Hamm Hollow Road,
was arrested Saturday by Carter County Sheriff's Department
Deputy Dave Ryan on a warrant charging him with violation
* Barbara Ann Nave, 60, 423 Lee Ave., was arrested
Saturday by CCSD Deputy Dave Ryan on a capias charging her
with failure to appear.
* Brandon Estep, 24, 204 Mill Rose St., Hampton,
was arrested Saturday by CCSD Deputy Shannon Deloach after
the officer responded to a domestic dispute. According to
the report, Shenandoah Estep, 25, who is separated from her
husband, was on Stateline Road when her husband saw her and
a male passenger, Jack Stout, inside her vehicle. Brandon
Estep followed Mrs. Estep to Stout's residence at 133 Simms
Hill. Estep exited his vehicle, ran to Mrs. Estep's car, struck
her in the face, jerked the cell phone away from her and threw
it, hitting Stout. Estep then broke the front windshield with
his fist, went to the passenger side, pulled Stout from the
vehicle and struck him several times in the face. Mrs. Estep
attempted to pull Estep off of Stout, but Estep struck her
again in the face, knocking her down. Deputy Deloach arrived
on the scene and approached the Esteps, who were outside the
vehicle arguing. The officer noted that Mrs. Estep had blood
on her shirt. Brandon Estep became combative toward the officer,
according to the report, and had to be sprayed with a chemical
agent before he could be restrained. Estep was escorted to
the patrol car, where he continued to be combative and was
forcibly placed in the rear of the vehicle. He then began
to hit and kick the windows, knocking them out of track. He
again was sprayed with a chemical agent and was transported
to jail without further incident. He was charged with aggravated
assault under domestic violence, resisting arrest and vandalism.
* Miranda Kay Pilk, 25, 7492 Hwy. 19E, Roan Mountain,
was arrested Saturday by CCSD Deputy Eric Buck and charged
with escape. Pilk was located at an apartment at Winchester
Court in Johnson City and was returned to jail without further
* Carol Renea Vines, 41, 1254 Bluefield Ave.,
was arrested Sunday at Horseshoe Lounge in Johnson City by
CCSD Deputy Rick Taylor on a warrant charging her with escape.
* Tommy R. Brummitt, 32, 152 Jess Hurley Road,
was arrested Saturday by CCSD Lt. Rocky Croy after he was
found operating a vehicle that was involved in an auto accident
on Highway 91. Brummitt was charged with second-offense driving
on revoked license and also was served two warrants charging
him with violation of probation.
* Sharhonda Nichole Johnson, 26, 2114 Dave Buck
Road, Johnson City, was arrested Saturday by CCSD Lt. Bob
Hooks on a capias charging her with failure to appear.
* Huvel Lee Payne Jr., 27, 1564 Broad St., was
arrested Friday by CCSD Deputy Albert Nave on a warrant charging
him with failure to appear on a charge of criminal littering.
* Dinah June Blair, 313 Anderson Road, Johnson
City, was arrested Friday by CCSD Deputy Todd Hamm after he
and Investigator Laverne Julian responded to University Parkway
regarding a female from Carter County who was wanted on active
warrants. Blair was arrested and charged with failure to appear
on custodial interference, failure to maintain control, and
possession of drug paraphernalia. She also was served warrants
charging her with possession of Schedule II narcotics (methamphetamine)
and possession of drug paraphernalia.
* Aaron Eugene Mardis, 58, 121 Jay Peg Lane,
was arrested Friday by CCSD Deputy Eric Buck and charged with
violating an order of protection.
* Casey A. Reed, 37, 111 Stillwater Circle, was
arrested Wednesday by CCSD Investigator Laverne Julian on
a capias charging him with failure to appear on two counts
* Gwendolyn Greer, 37, 236 Huffman Hill Road,
was arrested Saturday by CCSD Lt. Rocky Croy on a capias charging
her with failure to appear on theft under $500.
* Jackie Watson Cole, 33, 1991 Ocean View Drive,
Ocean City, Md., was arrested shortly before midnight Saturday
by CCSD Deputy Al Meehan following a traffic stop on U.S.
Highway 19E. At the time of his arrest, Cole told the officer
he had no license, registration or insurance. He had a strong
odor of alcohol about him and open containers of beer on his
seat, according to the report. He was charged with DUI, criminal
impersonation, violation of implied consent, violation of
financial responsibility law, and driving with no license.
While being booked into Carter County Jail, Cole gave his
name as "Lonnie Lynn Johnson." Cole's true identity was later
determined through investigation after it was found that he
had in his possession two different pill bottles, reported
stolen by Lonnie Johnson of Collettsville, N.C. Cole additionally
was charged by Jailer Tom Skeans with criminal impersonation
and possession of Schedule IV drugs. He also was served a
capias charging him with failure to appear on DUI, violation
of implied consent, and theft over $500.
* Perry Lee Canter, 34, 181 Sarah Annie Drive,
Johnson City, was arrested Friday by CCSD Deputy Kenny Cornett
on a warrant charging him with violation of an order of protection.
* Carol Bradley, 155 Lovers Lane, reported Sunday
to CCSD Lt. Rocky Croy that sometime after 11 p.m., someone
cut all four tires on her car.
* Karl Kopp, 1876 Powder Branch Road, Johnson
City, reported Saturday to CCSD Lt. Rocky Croy that sometime
during the last two months, someone came onto his property
and burned his cabin. The couch which had been inside the
residence had been removed before the fire. The 10-by-20 cabin
and its contents were a total loss.
* Nelly Warren, 124 Winchester Court, Johnson
City, reported Friday to Constable Willie Mathes that a storage
trailer she owns at 134 Greenlee Road, Johnson City, had been
broken into. The officer found that the front door glass had
been broken and the perpetrator had reached through and opened
the door, then had taken numerous items, including uninsured
collectibles. Among the items missing were a Sears battery
charger, Montgomery Ward color TV, Dale Earnhardt 75-year
anniversary wrenches from Snap-On Tool, a large Earnhardt
car from Snap-On, another pouch of Earnhardt tools, holiday
Barbie dolls, and a Nascar Barbie.
* Elizabeth Clayton, 1535 Hwy. 321, Hampton,
reported Sunday to CCSD Deputy Kenny Cornett that a yellow
1982 Subaru with woodgrain on the sides, had been taken from
her residence. The title to the vehicle and spare keys were
in the glove compartment.
* Hugh Imboden, 1256 Riverview Drive, reported
Saturday to CCSD Deputy R.L. Bowers that sometime in the past
week someone had taken a 4-by-8 foot Haulin utility trailer
from his property while he was out of town.
* David Cain, 1258 Riverview Drive, reported
Saturday to CCSD Deputy R.L. Bowers that while he was out
of town, someone had taken a miter saw from his garage.
* James Trent, 128 Shenandoah Drive, Johnson
City, reported Sunday to CCSD Deputy Eric Buck that someone
had entered his mother's residence and had taken three porcelain
angels and three Beanie Babies from the residence.
