Arrests

   * Lynal Wayne Hartley, 38, Apple Tree Lane, Green Acres Subdivision, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Carter County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Patrick Johnson on a warrant out of criminal court charging him with violation of probation.
   * Lawrence Edwin Bledsoe, 60, 1004 Kensington Lane, Kingsport, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by CCSD Sgt. Patrick Johnson and charged with DUI. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Dec. 16.
   * Alan Jack Simerly, 21, 1247 Bluefield Ave., was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Michael Sproviero on a warrant for violation of probation and was also served a warrant for assault under domestic violence. He was given a court date of Nov. 20 for the violation of probation charge. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 22 for the assault charge.
   * Ralph Wayne Whitehead, 28, 401 Ritterown Road, Hampton, was arrested Tuesday evening by EPD Ptl. Shannon Peters on two capias warrants, a warrant for violation of probation and an attachment for contempt of court from Chancery Court. He was given a General Sessions court date of Nov. 20.
   * Christopher Travis Lawrence, 28, 320 Bear Hollow Road, Bristol, was arrested Wednesday morning by Sullivan County Sheriff's Department officers and charged with felony escape from a work detail he was assigned to on Aug. 15. He was serving a 15 year sentence in Blount County for identity theft and fraud.
  
Thefts


   * Brenda Gail Elliot, 210 Old Lacey Hollow Road, reported to CCSD Deputy Janice Black that sometime on Tuesday some unknown person broke into her house by way of the garage door in the downstairs of the home. She reported that a .22 caliber handgun, a collection of old coins and some of her jewelry was taken. No estimate on the value of the stolen items is available yet.
   * Brian A. Mullins of Washington Mutual Finance, 1970 W. Elk Ave., reported to EPD Watch Commander William Fraley that on Tuesday morning, he discovered more than $150 was missing from the business.
   * Robert H. Bowers, 219 Old Siam Road, reported to an EPD Watch Commander Tuesday afternoon that while he was away from his home, someone entered his residence and stole some medication that belonged to him. He informed the officer that he suspects a subject that is known to him.
   * Heather D. Cable, 822 Stateline Road, Apt. 3, reported to EPD Ptl. Shannon Peters that someone entered her apartment on Tuesday and stole several items including a DVD player, jewelry, cash and clothing. The estimated value of the stolen property is more than $500. She reported that she suspects a female subject known to her is responsible for the crime.
   * Jona Nicole Casteel, 20, 1891 Powder Branch Road, was issued a summons Tuesday afternoon to appear in General Sessions Court on Dec. 16 by EPD Sgt. Charles Moreland on charges of shoplifting.
  
Property
Damage

   * C.Y. Peters, 319 Peters Hollow Road, reported to CCSD Lt. Mike Fraley, that while he was out of town someone had taken his 1993 Chevrolet and had wrecked it. According to reports, there was extensive damage done to the passenger side of the car. It is believed the damage was caused by striking a utility pole as fragments from a utility pole were found in between the passenger side door and the frame. Peters informed Fraley that he had left the keys in the vehicle while he was out of town.
