Arrests

   * John Joseph Pursley, 44, 1204 Buffalo St., Johnson City, was arrested Friday night by Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Michael McIntosh and charged with public intoxication.
   * Donald Edward Smith, 38, P.O. Box 582, Roan Mountain, was arrested Sunday by EPD Ptl. Shannon Peters and charged with failure to appear on no insurance and failure to file insurance in May 2001 in the state of Indiana. He was also charged with violation of the financial responsibility law. Smith is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 26.
   * Robert Coles, 29, 1700 West Elk Avenue, Apt. #: LOT8, was arrested Saturday by EPD Ptl. Jennifer Mayberry and charged with arrest for vandalism under domestic violence. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 26.
   * James Melvin Brummitt, 30, 107 Holston Mountain Road, was arrested Sunday by CCSD Sgt. T. Lowe and charged with second offense driving under the influence. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 25.
   * Dennis O.L. James, 42, 342 Dalewood Road, Johnson City, was arrested Friday by CCSD officer Tim Whaley and charged with public intoxication. He was scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court yesterday.
   * Joseph Wade Fisher, 22, 156 U.G. Buckles Road, was arrested Saturday by CCSD Deputy Sarah Ryan and charged with driving under the influence. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 25.
   * On Saturday, CCSD Sgt. Penny Cornett responded to a vehicle accident with injuries on Long Hollow Road. Upon arrival, Cornett noticed that Floyd Potter, 39, 1901 Roaring Creek Road, was intoxicated. Potter was charged with driving under the influence and failure to yield.
   * Shannon Scott Guinn, 20, 118 Spears Avenue, was arrested Monday by CCSD officers and charged with violation of probation.
   * Jason Lynn Buck, 22, 345 Jim Elliott Road, was arrested Sunday by CCSD officer Harvey Shaffer and charged with second offense driving on a revoked license and failure to provide proof of insurance. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court Nov. 25.
   * Crystal Jean Chambers, 31, 581 U.S. Highway 91, was arrested Sunday by CCSD Deputy Johnny Miller and charged with violation of probation out of Washington County.
   * Rufus Shane Wood, 26, 175 Elm Hollow Road, Roan Mountain, was arrested Sunday by CCSD Deputy Dave Ryan and charged with vandalism under domestic violence. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court Nov. 26.
   * Charles Edward Barker, 29, 111 Gordon Lewis Road, was arrested Saturday by CCSD Sgt. Penny Cornett and charged with driving under the influence, driving on a revoked license, violation of the implied consent law, and criminal impersonation. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 26.
  
Hit and Run

   *
On Sunday, EPD Sgt. Penny Cornett spoke with Jeffrey Erwin who stated that his vehicle was parked in a driveway on Waycaster Road, and his daughter was driving the vehicle. He stated they were sitting at the end of the driveway and a black Geo backed into the rear of his vehicle. He stated the car was driven by a man who got out of the car and looked at the damage, but then left the scene. Erwin was unable to get any tag information. According to the police report, Cornett spoke with some neighbors who said the black Geo is seen often in the neighborhood but they do not know who owns it. Damage to the vehicle was to the rear bumper and lights.
  
Theft

   *
On Friday, Forrest Lowe reported to CCSD Deputy Eric Buck that around 3:30 a.m while he was at work someone had stolen his American Bulldog valued at $1,000. Lowe advised the dog was in his pen and chained when the incident occurred. According to the police report, a witness, Sherry Stevens, advised Buck she heard the dog barking and observed a man known to Lowe leading the dog down the driveway with a chain.
   * On Friday, Kenny Johnson reported to CCSD officer Shannon Deloach that one of his employees at Pit Stop Tire, 8355 U.S. Highway 19E, Roan Mountain, found the window of the business broken when he came to work that morning. Johnson came to the store and found two front center line wheels and tires 165 X R15, two rear center line wheels and tires 275 X 60, and three interstate batteries, missing from the business. The cost was estimated over $500.
  
Breaking and Entering

  
* On Saturday, Roy Daniel Rash reported to EPD Ptl. T. Range that someone had entered his residence at 1101 Circle Drive and searched the entire contents of the house, stealing $100 in change, possibly $80 in cash, a Craftsman socket set valued at $200, an air compressor valued at $150, a Milwaukee drill valued at $100, and 72 pocket knives valued at $350. Every room in the house had been vandalized. No suspects were reported. The incident is under investigation.
  
Fire

   * Steve Cox, 332 Carter Blvd., reported to EPD Ptl. Jennifer Mayberry that while he was at his home Saturday night, he heard what sounded like an explosion outside and when he looked out his window, he discovered that his vehicle, a 1986 Pontiac Fiero, was on fire.
  
Missing Persons


  
* Jerry Dean Humphrey, 17, was reported missing by his mother, Sherry Humphrey. He is described as being five feet, seven inches tall with brown hair and blue eyes and weighing approximately 140 pounds. He was last seen late Saturday night at the home of his grandparents, 116 Redwood Drive.
   * Melissa Louise Ollis, 14, was reported missing by her mother, Kathy Ollis. She is described as being five feet, two inches tall with brown hair and eyes and weighing approximately 120 pounds. She was last seen Friday afternoon at her home, 143 Carr Road, Watauga, wearing blue jeans, a red shirt with a white collar, black boots and a black jacket with yellow details.
   * C.W. Smith, 13, was reported missing from his foster home by Shirley Hughes. He is described as being five feet, nine inches tall with brown hair and eyes and weighing approximately 115 pounds. He was last seen at his foster home, 211 Riggs Road, Saturday afternoon wearing blue jeans, a white shirt, black tennis shoes and a black winter coat with a gray stripe
