Arrests

   * Rafael Ortez Florez, 25, 215 Sugar Hollow Road, Butler, was arrested Wednesday morning by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Brad Hamm and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a license and violation of financial responsibility.
   * Misty Dawn Crowther, 23, 201 Dalewood Road, Johnson City, was arrested Wednesday night by CCSD Constable Harvey Shaffer on two warrants from General Sessions Court.
   * Dwight Warren Burgess, 46, 516 Cottage Ave., was arrested Wednesday evening by CCSD Deputy Dean Jones on a warrant for violation of probation.
   * Joseph T. Hughes, 29, 1900 East Unaka Ave., Johnson City, was arrested Wednesday evening by CCSD Lt. Harvey Guess on a warrant out of General Sessions Court.
   * Julio Vincente Perez, 25, 185 Simerly Creek Road, Hampton, was arrested early Thursday morning by CCSD Deputy Tom Skeans and charged with DUI, violation of implied consent and driving without a license.
   * Sandra Bowling, 52, 311 Amity Lane, Johnson City, was arrested Thursday evening by Elizabethton Police Department PTL Carl Burrough and charged with DUI and violation of implied consent.
   * Jerry Darrell Langford, 44, 2684 Bandys Springs Road, Catawba, N.C., was arrested Wednesday evening by EPD Sgt. John Bailey and charged with second offense DUI, theft over $1,000 and fifth offense driving on a suspended license.
   * Deborah Smith, 49, 411 14th Street SW, Hickory, N.C., was arrested Wednesday evening by EPD Sgt. John Bailey and charged with public intoxication and theft over $1,000.
  
Burglary


   * Clifford Street, owner of the Aquabreeze Car Wash, 1280 Milligan Highway, reported to EPD PTL John Ramsey that someone had broken into the store room at the car wash and stolen a handgun that was kept there. Also, change boxes on the towel dispensers had been emptied. The handgun is described as a Smith and Wesson Military and Police .38 special blue steel revolver with a four-inch barrel.
  
Traffic accident

  
* Anna Marie Greer, 120 Stone Dye Private Drive, reported to CCSD Deputy Dean Jones that Wednesday evening she was driving her 1995 Eagle Talon on Blue Springs Road when a dark colored SUV struck her car and continued driving.
