Fraud

   * Carter County Sheriff's Deputy Kenny Cornett responded to a report of fraud on Saturday. Tom Skeans reported to Cornett that a female subject known to him had received a credit card in his name and charged $447 in merchandise.
  
Theft

   * CCSD Sgt. Tim Lowe responded to Brown's Supermarket in Hampton Friday in reference to a forged check. Jean White reported that she cashed a check totaling $356.75 for a male subject. She reported noticing the check was from out of state after the subject left the store. White said she contacted Graystone Lodge in Boone, N.C., and was advised they had reported several stolen checks to the Boone Police Department.
   * On Saturday, CCSD Lt. Bob Hooks spoke with Mike Ensor who advised someone had entered his business at 181 Bill Lewis Road and taken several items without his permission. Items reported taken included a tree lounge (value, $269), a bow platform ($49), one gun holder ($29), and one cable lock ($29) among other hunting items.
  
Attempted burglary


   * CCSD Deputy Kenny Cornett spoke to Ronnie White on Saturday in reference to an attempted burglary. White reported that he had parked a Toyota Camry at Tire World on Highway 91 and someone had broken into the vehicle. White advised that the driver's side window had been busted out and someone had tried to steal the stereo player but had not been able to remove the unit from the dashboard.
  
Arrests

   * Steven L. Rasnick, 25, 177 Norman Jones Road, was arrested Friday by CCSD Deputy Jeff Markland on a charge of driving under the influence, 2nd offense. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 1.
   * Travis Brent Templeton, 22, 248 Aviation Drive, was arrested Friday by the Sheriff's Department on charges of theft under $500 and assault. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 4.
   * Benny Franklin Burton, 54, 337 Old Milligan Highway, Johnson City, was arrested Saturday by CCSD Sgt. Keith Range on a charge of public intoxication. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 12.
   * Henry Donald Gibbs, 18, 171 Dolan Hollow Road, Roan Mountain, was arrested Saturday by CCSD Sgt. Tim Lowe on a warrant charging him with two counts of assault under domestic violence. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 7.
   * Carl Dean Estep, 76, 172 Oscar Johnson Road, Hampton, was arrested Friday by CCSD Deputy Brad Hamm on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, possession of a firearm while under the influence, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 12.
   * Michael Lynn Grindstaff, 35, 167 Log Cabin Road, was arrested Friday by CCSD Sgt. Keith Range on charges of aggravated DUI and failure to show proof of insurance. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Nov. 12.
   * Harold Brian Russell, 27, 537 Shell Creek Road, Roan Mountain, was arrested Friday by CCSD Deputy Brad Johnson on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.
