Arrests

   *
Christy Ann Brown, 27, 107 Victory Lane, was arrested Wednesday by Carter County Sheriff's Department officer T. Blevins on charges of violation of probation. She is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Oct. 4.
   * Rebecca Gaye Estep, 28, P.O. Box 1286, Elizabethton, was arrested Wednesday by CCSD officer T. Blevins on charges of violation of probation. She is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Oct. 4.
   * Loy Dale Linaweaver, 42, Rt. 2 P.O. Box 190, Summerseed, Pa., was arrested Wednesday by CCSD officer T. Blevins on charges of violation of probation. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Oct. 4.
   * Amy Nichole Russell, 42, 2006 West G. Street, was arrested Wednesday by CCSD officer T. Blevins for violation of probation. She is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Oct. 4.
   * Thomas Eugene Stout, 45, 133 Williams Street, Hampton, was arrested Wednesday by CCSD officer T. Blevins for violation of probation. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Oct. 4.
   * Robert Larry South, 20, homeless, was arrested Wednesday by CCSD T. Blevins for violation of probation. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Oct. 4.
   * Robert Dewayne Whitehead, 34, 123 Whittemkore Road, Hampton, was arrested Wednesday by CCSD Deputy Eric Buck for violation of an order of protection.
   * Sherwood C. Davis, 33, 921 A. Pineridge Circle, was arrested Wednesday by CCSD constable Bobby Canter for violation of probation.
   * George W. Green, 35, 822 Walnut Street, Johnson City, was arrested Thursday by CCSD Lt. Rocky Croy on a capias from criminal court on failure to appear, and on a capias for failure to appear on rape charges. Bond has been set at $150,000 and a court date is scheduled for Oct. 4.
  
Shoplifting

  
* On Monday, Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Mike McIntosh was dispatched to Wal-Mart in reference to a shoplifter. Wal-Mart Loss Prevention informed him that a female, April N. Brown, 25, 1116 Merman Road, Kingsport, had taken approximately $27 worth of merchandise and put it in her purse. Brown was issued a shoplifting citation/summons. She is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Oct. 7.

Fire

  
* On Wednesday night, CCSD Lt. Harvey Guess responded to a call about a house fire at 150 Spring Drive. Upon arrival, he met with members of the West Carter, Central and Watauga fire departments who were in the process of extinguishing the blaze, which appeared to have originated in the eastern portion of the mobile home. Neighbors awakened the owner, Myrtle Miller, and her grandson, and they escaped the home. There appeared to be no foul play, and the fire was possibly started by accidental means, according to the police report.
  
Shots Fired

   *
On Wednesday, Jonathan Morgan, 151 Mine Hollow Road, advised CCSD officer Shannon Deloach that a person known to him pulled his car behind Morgan's on Bridge Street and followed him. When Morgan reached his destination, a male subject got out of his car and allegedly fired shots at Morgan using a .22 caliber handgun.

Burglary


   *
Roma Wooten, 112 Elisha Garland Road, Roan Mountain, advised CCSD Deputy Eric Buck on Wednesday that someone had entered her residence and taken hardwood flooring valued at approximately $700.
  
Aggravated Burglary

  
* Joseph Belovary, 149 Mill Pond Road Lot #7, advised CCSD Deputy Kenny Cornett that someone had entered his residence and stolen a Toshiba laptop computer valued at $500, a cordless tool set valued at $600, and two cases of CDs valued at $2,000.
