Assault

   * Carter County Sheriff's Deputy Todd Hamm responded to 120 Hemlock Lane on Tuesday in reference to an assault. On arrival, Hamm spoke with Joyce Brock who stated a male subject known to her had assaulted her. She advised that the subject had arrived at the residence when she was preparing to leave and had wanted a car battery. She reportedly told the subject she did not have time to get a car battery. The subject became angry and struck Brock in the face with his fist, she stated. Hamm reported a cut and abrasion was visible above the victim's left eye.
  
Burglary

   * CCSD Sgt. G.S. Johnson spoke with Debbie Ritchie on Tuesday in reference to a burglary. Ritchie advised that her dogs had been barking outside her Bulldog Hollow Road residence during the previous night. She said she found nothing during the night outside her home but on Tuesday afternoon, she discovered that her vehicle's car stereo was missing. She reported that the keys had been left in the ignition of the car and those keys were also taken.
  
Stolen vehicle

   * Tasha Crowe reported to Elizabethton Police Officer Kevin Cable that she had parked her white Geo Metro at Hardee's on Tuesday morning. She stated that when she went on break at 9:09 a.m. Tuesday, she found the vehicle had been taken. She reported the vehicle had not been locked but she had the keys in her possession. At approximately 12:27 p.m. Tuesday, Crowe alerted authorities that the vehicle had been returned.
  
Arrests

   * Jonathan David Parlier, 21, 430 Bonnie Kate Blvd., was arrested Tuesday by deputies from the CCSD and First Judicial District Drug Task Force on a charge of sale of Schedule II drugs.
   * Gary D. Hicks Jr., 28, 436 H. Heaton Road, was arrested by EPD Officer Jason Shaw for a warrant charging him with failure to appear on a charge of being a fugitive from justice, driving under the influence, and driving on a revoked license. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Sept. 30.
   * Sharon Anne Fox, 41, 4877 Highway 19E, Hampton, was arrested by CCSD Deputy Bradley Johnson on a warrant issued from Criminal Court on a charge of violation of probation.
   * Scott Allen Storie, 38, 137 Mayfield Drive, was arrested Tuesday by CCSD Sgt. G.S. Johnson on a warrant issued by Carter County Chancery Court for contempt.
   * Donna Mae Potter, 35, 266 Whaleytown Road, Butler, was arrested Tuesday by EPD Officer Brooke Mullins on a charge of DUI. She is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Oct. 11.
   * Lora Adkins McKinney, 115 Betterly Place, was arrested Tuesday by CCSD Lt. Mike Fraley on a charge of violation of probation and a capias issued for failure to appear on fines and costs. She is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Sept. 30.
   * EPD Officer Shannon Peters served a warrant for a charge of aggravated burglary on Robert South, 20, no address available. South was incarcerated at the Carter County Jail at the time of the warrant service.

Auto accident

   * A two vehicle accident on Siam Road near East Side Baptist Church on Wendesday afternoon sent the driver of one vehicle to the Johnson City Medical Center, according to Elizabethton Police. EPD Officer Mike Merritt said a preliminary report indicated a Dodge Intrepid was traveling on Siam Road when the vehicle appeared to have crossed the double yellow line and struck another vehicle driven by Bobby Joe Herndon of Elizabethton. The collision resulted in Herndon's vehicle being sent down an embankment near the Doe River, police said. The male driver of the Intrepid was not immediately identified by police. He was transported to JCMC by Wings Air Rescue. The victim's condition was not immediately known at press time. Herndon was wearing a seat belt and suffered only minor scuffs to his neck, according to police.
