Arrests

   * Robert Coles, 29, 1700 W. Elk Ave., was arrested Monday by Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Tonya Scott after the officer was dispatched to a domestic disturbance at 411 Bemberg Road. Coles was charged with assault under domestic violence.
   * Lonnie Ray Price, 28, 1300 Arney St., was arrested Sept. 12 by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Mike Commons on a warrant charging him with simple assault.
   * Kenneth Lee Brummitt, 19, 147 Spring Drive, was arrested Friday by CCSD Deputy Donald White on a warrant charging him with aggravated assault.
   * Jason Lee Richardson, 19, 171 George Williams Road, was arrested Sept. 12 by CCSD Deputy Mike Commons on a warrant charging him with violation of probation and a capias charging him with failure to appear.
   * Bradley Jay Ruffner, 35, 105 Chambers Drive, was arrested Sept. 12 by CCSD Investigator Chris Pierce after the officer received information from a confidential informant that Ruffner was residing at the Chambers Drive home and was wanted in Coldwater, Mich., for felony escape. Investigators Pierce, Sgt. George Skeans and Audrey Covington went to the residence and apprehended Ruffner. He was charged with fugitive from justice.
   * Ricky Holder, 42, 153 Greenbriar Road, Hampton, was arrested Friday by CCSD Deputy Donald White on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.
   * Timothy Joseph Silvers, 26, homeless, was arrested Sept. 12 by CCSD Deputy Brad Hamm after the officer was dispatched to 2621 Old Lewis Road regarding a domestic dispute. Silvers was charged with assault under domestic violence and vandalism under domestic violence.
   * A 15-year-old Unaka High School student was arrested Sept. 11 by CCSD Deputy Loretta Cloyd after two teachers walked into the boys bathroom at the school and observed the student holding a plastic baggie in the air which contained a substance that appeared to be marijuana. The student was charged with simple possession and released to his mother.
   * Darlene M. Greenway, 38, 205 Big Valley Drive #225, Johnson City, was served with a warrant for felony violation of probation by the Johnson City Bureau of Police on Wednesday. She is being held without bond in the Washington County Detention Center. Greenway is scheduled to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court on Sept. 19.

Bomb threat

   * Officers with the Johnson City Bureau of Police arrested Jerry Wayne Penley, 46, 810 Lamont St. #4, Johnson City on Wednesday after an investigation into a bomb threat at the Veterans Administration at Mountain Home that reportedly occured on Friday. Penley was arrested without incident at his home. He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of bond for false reporting/bomb threat. He is scheduled to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court on Sept. 24.

Burglary/theft

   * Barbara McKinney, 164 Sugar Hollow Road, Roan Mountain, reported Sept. 12 to CCSD Sgt. Keith Range that someone had entered her residence and had taken two glass containers containing a small amount of cash, as well as medication from the bathroom.
   * David Lyons, 42, 189 Old Stoney Creek Road, reported Monday to CCSD Deputy Jeff Markland that someone entered his home and removed two bottles of medication. There were no signs of forced entry and the medication appeared to be the only items missing at the time of the report.
   * Charlotte Black, 964 Hampton Creek Road, Roan Mountain, reported Sept. 12 to CCSD Deputy Eric Buck that her Gateway laptop computer, which was in a leather case, was taken from her residence. There was no sign of forced entry.
   * Graydon Eggers, 130 Poplar Summit, Boone, N.C., reported Sept. 12 to CCSD Deputy Jeff Markland that someone had broken into a residence on Blacks Branch Road in Butler, which he was a caretaker for, and had knocked out three windows. The home appeared to have been entered through the front door and the alarm panel destroyed. The only item found missing at the time of the report was an acoustic guitar.

Vandalism

   * Kimberly Silvers, 27, 2621 Old Lewis Road, Johnson City, reported Sept. 12 to CCSD Deputy Eric Buck that she was driving her vehicle on South Roan Street in Johnson City when she applied the brakes and the vehicle barely came to a stop. Silvers said that upon inspection, it was found that her brake line had been cut.
