Theft


   * Charles Howard Trent, 880 Smalling Road, reported Wednesday to Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Jim Whaley that someone had entered his home and had taken a .22 semi-automatic rifle, a three-shot bolt-action .410 shotgun, his wallet containing $500 in cash, drivers license and other important personal papers. The guns were taken from a locked gun cabinet and the wallet from his bedroom dresser.
   * Jackie Dugger, 147 Dolan Hollow Road, Roan Mountain, reported Wednesday to CCSD Deputy Gregg Nave that his family had been on vacation and when he returned Tuesday, he found that his tool box and an assortment of tools were missing.
   * McDaniel Grant, 26, 144 Dolan Hollow Road, Roan Mountain, reported Wednesday to CCSD Deputy Jeff Markland that someone had stolen a Makita circular saw from inside his residence.
   * Rick Bluto, 31, 419 E. L Street, reported Tuesday to Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Jason Shaw that he was in the process of moving from his current address and had returned Tuesday to get some of his belongings. When he entered, he found many of his possessions moved and some missing. Bluto said that a refrigerator belonging to the landlord was among the items taken.
   * Warren L. Baker, 110 Brice Road, reported Wednesday to CCSD Deputy Sarah Ryan that someone had forced open the front door of his trailer and had taken his prescription medication. A push lawnmower and weedeater also were taken.
   * Mark Anthony Maggart, 104 Nave Street, Hampton, reported Wednesday to CCSD Deputy Brad Hamm that someone had broken into his home and had taken approximately 10 Sony PlayStation games and about half a carton of cigarettes. The officer observed that a window in the back door had been broken out, with glass lying in the hallway.
