Arrests

   * Bruce Allen Whitehead, 38, 637 First Ave., Hampton, was arrested Thursday by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Todd Hamm after he and Deputy Brad Johnson responded to 1279 Hwy. 143 regarding a domestic assault. Kim Thompson, 32, told the officer that she was asleep at her father's residence, where she had been living, and awoke to find her ex-husband, Whitehead, inside the residence going through her purse, looking for a key to her Mazda. Thompson said she attempted to get the key away from him and Whitehead pushed her down. Thompson received a small cut on her right middle finger and several scrapes on her right arm. Whitehead took the key and left the residence prior to the officers' arrival. He was stopped on Hwy. 143 by Deputy Brad Johnson and charged with assault under domestic violence.
   * Terri Montgomery, 21, 608 Locust St., was arrested Thursday by CCSD Deputy Al Meehan and charged with violation of probation.

Theft

   * Daniel Vanhouten, 347 Hwy. 91, reported Thursday to CCSD Lt. Bobby Huffman that while he was away from his residence, someone broke in and removed a 13-inch Sharpe television, JVC CD player, Washburn electric guitar, Crate 40-watt amp, leather jacket and 10 compact discs.
   * EPD Ptl. Richard Haney responded Thursday to Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Center. According to the report, someone stole approximately $400 worth of flowers from the park behind the Twins baseball field located on North Riverside Drive.

Shooting

   * Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Jason Shaw responded Thursday to Blue Ridge Fabricators regarding an accidental shooting. Daniel Bullock, 43, 139 Oscar Johnson Rd., Hampton, told the officer that he was sitting in his truck showing a Llama .45-caliber single action semi-automatic handgun to a friend when it fired and the round struck him in the left calf. Bullock was transported by Carter County EMS for treatment.
