Arrests
* David Mark Markland, 28, 131 Wilson Ave., was
arrested Monday by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy
Michael Carlock after he turned himself in to the sheriff's
department on a warrant charging him with aggravated assault.
* Travis Lynn Brown, 128 Joe Wilson Road, was
arrested Monday by CCSD Deputy Todd Hamm on a warrant charging
him with violation of probation.
* Nathaniel D. Huffman, 1310 Lowe St., and Scotty
Lee Calloway, 3220 Lovers Lane, were issued summons for shoplifting
Monday by Elizabethton Police Department Sgt. Brian Fraley
after the officer responded to a call at Wal-Mart. According
to loss prevention personnel, Calloway concealed approximately
$450 worth of DVD's in a black duffel bag while Huffman acted
as lookout.
* Judy L. Church, 307 Southview Circle, Apt.
307B, was issued a summons for shoplifting Monday by EPD Sgt.
Brian Fraley after the officer responded to a call at Wal-Mart.
According to loss prevention personnel, Church was observed
attempting to leave the store with approximately $60 in clothing
items. They were recovered from her pocketbook.
* Darsi Ann Blevins, 29, 288 Cripple Creek Road,
was arrested Monday by EPD Ptl. Joey Proffitt after the officer
responded to a traffic accident. According to the report,
Blevins struck another vehicle while pulling into a parking
space. She was charged with DUI, possession of Schedule IV
and violation of financial responsibility.
* Christopher Thomas Crum, 19, 1316 Patrick Drive,
Johnson City, was arrested Monday by officers of Johnson City
Police Bureau and charged with aggravated assault. The charge
resulted from an incident where Crum was involved in an altercation
at the Johnson City Chemical Plant with Chris Carroll, 109
Lark Lane, Bluff City. Crum took a steel bar and struck Carroll
in the face, according to police. Carroll was treated at Johnson
City Medical Center and admitted.
