Arrests
* Amanda J. Oaks, 22, 181 Jade Drive, and Charles
Raymond Woods, 33, 7925 Hwy. 19E, Apt. 4, Roan Mountain, were
arrested Thursday by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy
Bradley Johnson following pursuit of a vehicle driven by a
third party. The pursuit began on U.S. Highway 19E and ended
in Clawson Hollow in Roan Mountain, with the driver evading
the officer and leaving Oaks and Woods in the vehicle. Both
Oaks and Woods were charged with public intoxication.
* Timothy Shawn Rutherford, 143 Bulldog Hollow,
was arrested Thursday by Constable David Jones on a charge
of vandalism.
Domestic
* CCSD Deputy Jeffrey Markland responded Friday
to 809 Dennis Cove Road to assist members of Carter County
Rescue Squad with a female who had fallen out of a moving
car. According to the report, Amy Michelle Miller, 27, 922
Dorothy St., Kingsport, told the officer that her boyfriend
had picked her up at Hog Wild in Kingsport and had taken her
to Dennis Cove. She told the officer her boyfriend said he
was going to kill her when they got to the top of the mountain
and said that when he slowed to negotiate a curve, she jumped
out of the vehicle and ran to the nearest house. Miller was
transported to Johnson City Medical Center by the rescue squad.
