Arrests
* John Robert White, 37, 207
Nanny Goat Hill, Hampton, was arrested Monday by Carter County
Sheriff's Department Deputy Eugene Moreland without incident
on a warrant charging him with being a fugitive from justice.
White had active warrants on him from York County, S.C. He
was being held in Carter County Jail awaiting extradition.
* Frank Rosenbaum, 79, 123 Rosenbaum Private
Drive, was arrested Monday by CCSD Deputy Terry Blevins on
a warrant charging him with stalking.
* Hattie Vivone Richardson, 40, 1644 Hwy. 91,
was arrested Monday by CCSD Deputy Terry Blevins on a warrant
charging her with assault.
* Anthony C. Roberts, 54, 156 Swimming Pool Road,
Hampton, was arrested Monday by CCSD Deputy Todd Hamm after
the officer was dispatched to Captain Jack's market in Hampton
regarding an intoxicated male. Carter County Rescue Squad
advised that they had been dispatched regarding a male, identified
as Roberts, who had fallen in the parking lot. Roberts was
not injured but was unable to tell them what day or month
it was, so officers were dispatched to the scene. Roberts
was charged with public intoxication. A bystander, Marvin
Tolley, 36, 166 Verl Street Road, Hampton, was recognized
by the officer, who had knowledge that Tolley was wanted on
an active warrant. He was taken into custody on a charge of
violation of probation.
* Michael Woodby, 28, 147 Mill Pond Road, Hampton,
was arrested Tuesday by CCSD Sgt. Tim Lowe after the officer
was dispatched regarding a domestic disturbance. Woodby was
located standing on a side porch with a large file in one
hand and a bottle of beer in the other, arguing with his mother.
Woodby ran around the corner of the house but stopped and
dropped the file and beer when ordered by the officer to do
so. Woodby's mother told the officer that her son had knocked
the glass out of her screen door and had kicked in the lower
portion. Broken glass was observed on the side porch and the
door was damaged. A small amount of blood was found on the
porch and Woodby had a small cut on his left hand. He was
charged with vandalism under domestic violence.
* Chad Lewis Royal, 24, 242 Jim Elliot Road,
was arrested Tuesday by officers of Johnson City Police Department
following investigation into the attempted entry of a vending
machine at 3316 Wayfield Drive, Johnson City. Royal was charged
with vandalism over $500.
Accident
* Sullivan County Sheriff's
Office was dispatched Monday to a motor vehicle crash on U.S.
Highway 11W near Deck Valley Road. When officers arrived,
they found a gold 1987 Honda Accord on its top off the westbound
shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle apparently ran off the
road, struck a steel mailbox post, and went through a ditch
before overturning. The driver, Mary Lou Barker, 51, 1344
Massengill Road #5, Blountville, was transported to Bristol
Regional Medical Center by Sullivan County EMS. She was listed
in serious condition. The accident is under investigation.
