Arrests
* Michael J. Belcher, 19, 12364 College Drive,
Meadowview, Va., and Jason P. Ervin, 19, 5060 Roan Lane, Saltville,
Va., were arrested Tuesday along with two juvenile males on
charges of aggravated robbery. Officers of Johnson City Police
Bureau said the arrests were the result of investigation into
the armed robbery of Roadrunner Market, 901 W. Walnut St.
During the robbery, Belcher, along with a juvenile, entered
the store and the juvenile used a handgun to get money from
the clerk, according to the report. Belcher and the juvenile
fled the store to a waiting vehicle occupied by Ervin and
the second juvenile. Public Safety officers from East Tennessee
State University saw the suspicious activity and contacted
Johnson City Police, resulting in the four arrests. In addition
to aggravated robbery charges, Belcher and Ervin also are
charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency
of a minor. The juveniles were being held in Washington County
Juvenile Detention Center.
* Anthony W. Ayers, 41, 208 W. Locust St. #3,
Johnson City, was arrested Wednesday by officers of Johnson
City Police Bureau on charges of domestic assault and damage
to private property over $500.
* Arthur Neal Barninger, 31, 536 Volunteer Pkwy.,
Bristol, was arrested Sunday by officers of Johnson City Police
Bureau following a traffic stop on West Market Street in Johnson
City. Barninger was charged with being a fugitive from justice
and is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania to face charges
of theft by deception.
* John Wrestler, 33, 100 E. Unaka Ave., was arrested
Sunday by officers of Johnson City Police Bureau following
investigation into the report of an intoxicated subject, accompanied
by a juvenile, inside a business at 211 E. Main St. Wrestler
was charged with public intoxication and felony child neglect.
