Arrests

   * Adam Stewart Guess, 22, 737 Sugar Hollow Rd.; Douglas Earl Densmore, 19, 2691 Bob Little Rd.; and Scott C. Deloach, 20, 132 Jackson Ave., were arrested around 11:12 p.m. Thursday by Elizabethton Police Department Sgt. Matt Bailey. A 17-year-old male was issued a juvenile summons after the officer observed a truck pull out from Horseless Carriage auto sales with the headlights off.
   The officer got behind the vehicle, stopping it on Jena Beth Drive. The driver, Guess, told the officer he was having trouble with the truck. Two passengers, Densmore and the juvenile were observed lying on four tires and rims in the bed of the truck.
   Sgt. Bailey requested Ptl. Tonya Scott go to Horseless Carriage to check whether any vehicles were missing tires and rims. Ptl. Scott advised that a red Honda Civic was missing all four tires and rims and that several lug nuts were found lying beside the vehicle.
   Sgt. Bailey, along with Ptl. Richard Haney, removed all four subjects from the vehicle and took them into custody. Upon searching the subjects, Ptl. Haney found what appeared to be a marijuana pipe with residue in it, as well as four lug nuts matching the ones found at the car lot, in Densmore's left front pants pocket. A screwdriver was found in the front pocket of the juvenile's pants.
   Densmore was charged with theft over $500 and possession of drug paraphernalia. Guess and Deloach both were charged with theft over $500. The juvenile was issued a summons charging him with theft over $500 and was released to his guardian.
   * Ross E. Wheelock, 37, 219 Weaver Hill Rd., Johnson City, was issued summonses Wednesday by EPD Ptl. Mike McIntosh following a traffic stop at the intersection of West Elk Avenue and Highway 91 North. Wheelock was charged with second-offense driving on suspended license, speeding and violation of registration law.
   * Gregory David Jones, 25, 513 Kendricks Creek Rd., Kingsport, was arrested Wednesday by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Jeffrey Markland after the officer responded to a domestic disturbance on Marion Branch Road. Jones was charged with public intoxication and assault under domestic violence.
   * Ralph Richard Bare II, 39, 7220 Hwy. 19E, Roan Mountain, was arrested Thursday by CCSD Deputy Bradley Johnson on an attachment for contempt issued by Chancery Court.
   * Brian B. Broyles, 21, 100 Honeysuckle Lane, Chuckey, was arrested Thursday by officers of Johnson City Police Bureau and charged with theft over $1,000 following investigation into the misappropriation of money from a Johnson City business where Broyles was employed.

Handgun class

   * Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Jim Whaley and Reserve Deputy Jack Hoss will offer a concealed carry class beginning at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 17 and Dec. 15 at Watauga City Hall. There is a $50 fee for the eight-hour class. Instructors are state-certified. Participants should bring their handgun, 50 rounds of ammunition, hearing protection and safety glasses. Theft

   * Thomas Puckett, 114 First Ave., Hampton, reported Thursday to CCSD Sgt. Keith Range that someone had entered his residence and removed a Legacy 1000 amplifier. There were no signs of forced entry.

Property damage

   * Linda Bradey, 48, 607 Summitt Ave., reported Thursday to EPD Ptl. Jason McCall that a truck belonging to her neighbor, Charles Farr, 33, 606 Summitt Ave., struck her front porch. Farr said that around lunchtime, the truck slipped out of gear, crossed the road and struck Bradley's porch. The truck punched a large hole in the concrete block foundation.

Vehicle recovered

   * CCSD Deputy Bradley Johnson recovered a 1999 Mercury Thursday on White Oak Mountain taken from Keith Bowers Auto, 830 Blue Springs Road. Prior to recovery, a hunter notified the officer of the location of the vehicle, which had no tag and was secured.

Evaluation ordered

   * A mental evaluation was ordered Friday for Terry Dean Harrell, 49, 275 Cove Creek Road, who is charged with the May 14 first-degree murder of 23-year-old Roger Lynn Oaks Jr. Oaks was shot four to five times at close range with a .45-caliber handgun in an apartment he had shared with his estranged wife, Amanda, which was owned by Harrell. Harrell was given a Jan. 15 court date in Carter County Criminal Court.
