Arrests

   * James C. Peoples, 43, 122 Jackson Lane Private Dr., Johnson City, was arrested Friday by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Jeffrey Markland following a domestic disturbance. Peoples said he came home and found his wife and friend together, put a gun in his friend's mouth and threatened to kill him before discharging a 9 mm pistol into the ceiling. He was charged with aggravated assault.
   * Marion D. Wilson, 40, 195 Hidden Oaks Dr., Johnson City, was arrested Thursday by CCSD Deputy Tim Lowe on a warrant charging him with assault under domestic violence. He also was served an order of protection.
   * Tony Reed Hildebrand, 26, 608B Trudy St., was arrested Thursday by CCSD Deputy Brad Proffitt on warrants charging him with burglary and theft under $500.
   * Sara Louise White, 35, 195 Norman Joins Rd., was arrested Thursday by CCSD Investigator Audrey Covington charging her with failure to appear for a court hearing to face charges of obtaining food stamps by fraud.
   * Loren Pearce, 34, 122 Cunningham St., was arrested Thursday by CCSD Deputy Rick Taylor following a traffic accident on Garland Branch. The vehicle Pearce was operating left the roadway and traveled into a ditch, then crossed the roadway and went over an embankment. He struck a road sign, continued across Garland Branch Road, through a residence and outbuilding, entered another lawn, struck a fence and ended up in a swimming pool. Pearce was charged with DUI. He told the officer that he had taken prescription medication before the accident occurred.
   * Joseph Lee Crowther, 24, 921 Pine Ridge Circle, was arrested Thursday by Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Jesus Pena on a capias charging him with failure to appear on bad checks.
   * Neil P. Johns, 23, 178 Church St., Butler, and Amos N. Dugger, 21, 439 Scott St., Butler, were arrested Friday by EPD Ptl. Jack Ramsey following a traffic stop. Johns was charged with DUI and driving on suspended license. He submitted to an Intoximeter test at Carter County Jail, resulting in a blood alcohol content of .24 percent. The DUI charge was then enhanced to aggravated DUI. Dugger was charged with public intoxication.
   * Edsel E. Perkins, 71, 299 Hardin Hollow Rd., was arrested Thursday by EPD Ptl. Richard Haney following a traffic stop. Perkins was charged with DUI.
   * Thomas Anthony McCaffrey, 37, 331 Old Milligan Hwy., Johnson City, was arrested Wednesday by EPD Ptl. Michael Merritt following a traffic accident. The driver complained of pain across his entire body but could not give EMS personnel any further information. He was transported to Johnson City Medical Center by Carter County Rescue Squad, where he was treated and released. He then was charged with DUI and violation of implied consent. While being booked into Carter County Jail he became belligerent and began fighting with jailers, according to the report. He then was forcibly placed in the drunk tank.
   * Calvin G. Goldwire, 37, was arrested Saturday by officers of Johnson City Police Bureau on burglary and assault charges. The arrest came after officers responded to 305 E. Oakland Ave., regarding a domestic call during which Goldwire apparently broke into the residence and assaulted a female occupant.
   * Clayton L. Story, 23, 236 Hugh Story Rd., Limestone, and Lisa R. Jester, 20, 289 Hugh Story Rd., were arrested Saturday by officers of Johnson City Police Bureau following investigation into several vandalisms and thefts from Pepsi and Coca-Cola vending machines throughout the city, and also an auto burglary. Story was charged in a warrant with nine counts of vandalism over $500, nine counts of theft under $500, and one count of auto burglary. At the time of the arrest, Story was in the company of Jester and was found to have a warrant for her arrest out of Greene County for failure to appear on a burglary charge.
   * Christopher R. Green, Johnson City, was arrested Saturday and charged with auto burglary after officers were called to Super Kmart in reference to a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they met with a citizen who witnessed Green inside a vehicle with the window broken out. The citizen was able to detain Green until officers arrived.
   * Clive Christopher Byfield, 1410 E. Lakeview Dr., Apt. 7, Johnson City, was arrested Friday by officers of Johnson City Police Bureau on charges of motor vehicle theft and leaving the scene of an accident. The arrest stems from investigation into a hit-and-run automobile accident involving Byfield, which revealed that the car he was driving was stolen from Greensboro, N.C.

Burglary

   * Christopher George Lambert, 40, 119 Ed Green Rd., Hampton, reported Thursday to CCSD Deputy Kenneth Cornett that his residence was entered while he was at work. Missing were a guitar and a 19-inch Sanyo color television.
