Fire

   * Dexter Lunceford of Elizabethton reported Sunday to Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Albert Nave that when he returned home from church he found the drop-in range stove in his home was on fire. The kitchen cabinets, cabinet top, a 13-inch television, a telephone and dishwasher also were burned. Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded. Damage was estimated at $10,000.

Property damage

   * Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Mike McIntosh was dispatched around 11:08 a.m. Sunday to 656 Golf Course Drive regarding a large branch which had fallen from a tree. According to the report, the branch had taken out several sections of white vinyl fencing and had broken the glass casing of a light sensor for an outdoor flood light. A 2000 Subaru Legacy sustained an estimated $7,000 in damage. The vehicle had a shattered rear windshield, cracked front windshield and broken right rear tail light assembly. The spoiler was broken off the vehicle.

Arrests

   * Jeffery Buckingham, 37, 1110 Park St., was arrested Saturday by CCSD Deputy Chris Pierce and charged with failure to appear on sixth-offense driving on revoked license.
   * Tracy LeeAnn Townsend, 28, 18 Berry Hill Road, was arrested Saturday by CCSD Deputy Gregg Nave on a warrant charging her with assault.
   * Cheryl L. Baird, 39, 384 Carter St., Bluff City, was arrested Sunday by a Tennessee Valley Authority law enforcement officer and charged with public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of Schedule VI.
   * Freddie Lee Julian Jr., 24, Eastland Apt. #2, Hampton, was arrested Saturday by CCSD Deputy Chris Pierce on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.
   * Clarence J. Light, 18, 385C Sciota Road, Unicoi, and Matthew I. Shelton, 18, 250 Mike Shelton Road, Erwin, were arrested Sunday by CCSD Deputy Chris Pierce following a traffic stop on Gap Creek Road. Light was charged with DUI and drinking under age. Shelton was charged with public intoxication and drinking under age.
   * Melinda Lou Bowers, 39, 109 Natures Trail, Roan Mountain, and Sharon Elizabeth Street, 37, 112 General Johnson St., Roan Mountain, were arrested Monday by CCSD Deputy Chris Pierce following a traffic stop. Bowers was charged with DUI, violation of open container law, and possession of Schedule VI. Street was charged with public intoxication and possession of Schedule VI.
   * James Thomas, 32, Storey Land Trailer #10, was arrested Monday by CCSD Deputy Jeffrey Markland and charged with assault under domestic violence, reckless endangerment, and failure to appear.
   * Lonnie Ray Pierce, 27, 435 Race St., and Steve Hardin, 27, 204 Old Lacey Hollow Road, were arrested Saturday by CCSD Deputy Jeffrey Markland following a traffic stop on Broad Street. Pierce was charged with DUI. Hardin was charged with public intoxication.
   * Dayton Leonard McNeal, 66, 777 Sugar Hollow Road, and Terry Wayne Byrd, 32, 773 Sugar Hollow Road, were arrested Saturday by CCSD Deputy Eric Buck after he and Deputy Albert Nave responded to a neighbor dispute. According to the report, McNeal was intoxicated and was outside yelling at his neighbors. Deputy Buck advised him not to be outside yelling because it was creating a disturbance. The officer then left the scene and went three houses away to speak with Deputy Albert Nave. Officers then heard people hollering and walked back to the residence and saw Byrd walking up the road toward McNeal, yelling and swinging what appeared to be num-chucks. McNeal was standing out in the yard, yelling back at Byrd. Byrd was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment. McNeal was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
   * Gregory Paul Lewis, 25, 1213 Oak St., was arrested Saturday by EPD Ptl. Tonya Scott after she, Ptl. Michael Merritt and Capt. Art Smithdeal responded to Lynnridge B2 building regarding an intoxicated male. When officers arrived, they observed what appeared to be an altercation between a male and female and after separating the two, detected a strong odor of alcohol on Lewis's person. Lewis refused to advise officers of the problem and as they attempted to handcuff him, he began to resist. He was taken to the ground and cuffed. Regina Arnold, 29, 1293 Bluefield Ave., told officers that Lewis had been drinking and had jumped from the second story balcony of the B2 building. Arnold said she had been trying to calm him and bring him inside her apartment, but he refused. Lewis was charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest.
   * Cleve F. Hardin, 35, 914 E. Main St., Johnson City, was arrested Saturday by CCSD Deputy Rick Taylor after the officer responded to River's Edge Campground. Hardin was charged with public intoxication.
   * Freddie L. Charlton, 39, 1275 Bluefield Ave., was arrested Sunday by EPD Ptl. Jason McCall on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.
   * John Wayne Anderson, 44, 13 Blue Ridge Road, Asheville, N.C., was arrested Sunday by EPD Ptl. Richard Haney and charged with public intoxication after the officer responded to a report of a shoplifter at Blockbuster. Theft charges are pending.
   * Alexander Charles Coy, 18, 135 Carr Road, Watauga, was arrested Sunday by EPD Ptl. Tonya Scott following a traffic stop. Coy was charged with criminal impersonation and driving without a license.
   * Peggy Ann Cullop, 47, 903 Walker St., was issued a summons Sunday by EPD Capt. Rusty Verran charging her with theft of services after she failed to pay for an Aug. 21 haircut from Hair Depot.
   * James E. Walton, 31, 1805 Field Road, was arrested Sunday by EPD Ptl. Mike McIntosh on a capias charging him with failure to appear with fines and costs on charges of possession of Schedule VI and public intoxication.
   * Richard Dale Loyd, 27, 359 Ridgecrest Road, Jonesborough, was arrested Monday by officers of Johnson City Police Bureau after an officer was called to 1811 W. Lakeview Drive to investigate a residential burglary. During the investigation, the suspect, Loyd, sped through the parking lot holding a knife in his mouth. When the officer tried to arrest Loyd, he resisted. A brief struggle ensued between Loyd and the officer before Loyd was subdued. He was charged with aggravated burglary, reckless driving, unlawful possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and assault on an officer.
   * Andrew G. Biggs, 122 Lynn Lane, Johnson City, and two juveniles were arrested around 10:11 p.m. Monday by officers of Johnson City Police Bureau after they responded to a burglar alarm at 804 Lamont St. Burglary tools were found on a juvenile and the adult. Biggs was charged with possession of burglary tools, theft over $1,000, and felony vandalism. One juvenile was charged with possession of burglary tools, theft over $1,000, and felony vandalism. The other juvenile was charged with theft over $1,000 and felony vandalism.
