Stabbing

ÊÊÊÊÊÊ  * Doug Jones, 31, 415 Bluegrass Road, was arrested Sunday by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Eric Buck and charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly stabbed a 17-year-old male from Roan Mountain in the stomach following an argument over a weed-eater, according to Chief Deputy James Parrish. The juvenile was driven to Carter County Rescue Squad's Station II by a private citizen, then transported by squad members to Hampton, where he was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center by Wings Air Rescue. A house supervisor at the medical center said early Monday morning that it could not release any information on the juvenile's condition.

Arrests

   * Steven M. Ollis, 916 Hopson St., Johnson City, was arrested Friday by Officer Keith Jeffers after an investigation into an auto burglary that occurred on May 5 at the boat ramp of Bristol Highway and Carroll Creek Road. Ollis was charged with auto burglary, theft under $500,000, and evading arrest.
   * Ricky Gene Pritchard, 502 Cottage Ave., was arrested Saturday by Carter County Sheriff's Deputy Kenneth Cornett and charged with violation of habitual motor offender and leaving the scene of an accident.

House fire

   * Elizabethton police and fire departments answered a call early Saturday morning for a fire at a house on Coleman Road owned by J.C. Perkins. The cause of the fire was unknown at the time of the report.

Vandalism

   * The soft drink machines at Frank's Market on South Roan in Johnson City, as well as those of the auto repair shop next door, were found vandalized by Carter County Deputy Kenneth Cornett on Saturday. The machines had been pried open and the money boxes stolen.
