Arrests

  * Timmy Dean Morgan, 37, 133 Harrison Hollow Road, Roan Mountain, was arrested Sunday by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Greg Marlow after the officer responded to the Appco in Roan Mountain regarding a domestic assault. Morgan appeared to be in an intoxicated state and was charged with public intoxication.
  * Dustin L. Holtsclaw, 19, 556 Tiger Creek Road, Hampton, was arrested Saturday by Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Jennifer Mayberry after she and Sgt. Roger Crowe were dispatched to a car wash on Railroad Street regarding two persons asleep in a bay in a red Ford Torino. Officers located the subjects in the east end bay. Holtsclaw was charged with public intoxication and criminal trespassing. A passenger was cited by Sgt. Crowe with criminal trespassing.
  * Jerry L. Estep, 31, 372 Wilbur Dam Road, was arrested Sunday by EPD Ptl. Mike McIntosh following a traffic stop. He was charged with DUI, violation of implied consent, and no driver's license on person.
  * Justin L. Pruett, 18, 259 Russell Hill Road, was arrested Sunday by EPD Ptl. Jennifer Mayberry after Sgt. Roger Crowe observed a female subject sitting in the parking lot of Union Pharmacy and went to investigate. Rebekka Crowe, 21, 705 Jordan Road, told officers that she observed a male subject, identified as Pruett, exit a red Toyota as the vehicle pulled into the parking lot. Crowe said a female, identified as Sheena B. Perry, 18, 305 Cherry St., exited the vehicle and was pursued by Pruett, who caught her and hit her, causing her to fall. Crowe said Perry ran again and that Pruett didn't stop chasing her until she (Crowe) began blowing her horn and yelling at him. Crowe said she pulled over to check on Perry and found her covered in blood. Perry told officers she and Pruett were driving down the road when Pruett pulled the emergency brake, causing her to wreck. Perry said she jumped out of the vehicle and started running, with Pruett chasing her. When he caught her, he headbutted her, she said. Perry had a deep puncture wound on the right upper portion of her inner cheek area. Pruett told officers that Perry had been driving in a reckless manner and had looked away from the road and was headed for a telephone pole. He said he thought they were going to hit the pole head-on, so he pulled the emergency brake. He said Perry probably struck her face during the accident. Carter County Rescue Squad EMS personnel advised the wound probably was caused by a headbutt and not from impact in an accident. Pruett was charged with assault under domestic violence and was transported to Carter County Jail.
  * Melody L. Chambers, 25, 2551 Hwy. 91, was issued a summons Friday by EPD Ptl. Jennifer Mayberry charging her with forging a prescription after officers responded to the Medicine Shoppe, 625 W. Elk Ave. The pharmacist advised that he was presented a prescription by Chambers for 95 Loritab, 7.5 mg. Upon checking, the prescription was for 15 Loritab, 7.5 mg.

Upon arrival, the officer and members of Carter County Rescue Squad found Timothy Lee Shelton, 31, 701 Oak Drive, lying on a bed in the rear bedroom, unresponsive. Mavis Collins, 29, 1298 Bluefield Ave., told the officer that Shelton came to her house when he got out of jail Friday. She said he left around 1 p.m., going to the store, and returned around 2-2:30 p.m. Saturday. Collins said when he came home, he went in to lie down. She checked on him around 4:10 p.m. and found him blue and not breathing. He was transported to Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
