Arrests

  * Joseph Michael Whitson, 18, 147 Wilbur Dam Road, was arrested Friday by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Jeffrey Markland after the officer responded to the residence regarding a domestic dispute. Whitson was charged with assault under domestic violence.
  * Homaira A. Mirhabibi, 19, 121 Jackson Ave., was arrested July 11 by Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Mike McIntosh and charged with drinking under age and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
  * Shannon R. Hoyle, 20, 604 Steel St., Johnson City, was issued a criminal summons July 11 by EPD Ptl. Jason McCall and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Hit and run

  * Melinda Bowers, 39, 109 Nature's Trail, Roan Mountain, reported Thursday to CCSD Deputy Dean Jones that a small blue vehicle hit her 1999 General Motors Sedan at the beer store at King of the Road in Roan Mountain.

Firecrackers

  * A store clerk at Citgo, 821 W. Elk Ave., reported Thursday to Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Mike McIntosh that a green Chevrolet Spectrum occupied by three males pulled up to the gas pumps to get gas and a male back seat passenger exited the vehicle and lit a firecracker, detonating it near the pumps.

Burglary

  * Helen V. Garland, 219 S. Sycamore St., reported July 11 to EPD Sgt. Roger Crowe that when she went to True Faith Chapel around 10 a.m., she found the front and back doors open. The front door lock was missing and the back door lock had been pried open. Exit appeared to have been made by knocking out the screen on the back side window. Nothing was found missing.

Vandalism

  * Jerry F. White, 58, 1935 Siam Road, reported July 11 to EPD Ptl. Joey Proffitt that he left his vehicle in the gravel parking lot of Milligan College at 6 p.m. and when he returned at 8:30 p.m., he found the back window broken out. The damage appeared to have been done by a pellet rifle.
