Davis returns home

   The body of Master Sgt. Jefferson Donald "Donnie" Davis was returned to Elizabethton Friday escorted by military and law enforcement officials.
   Master Sgt. Davis, 39, of Watauga; Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Petithory, 32, of Massachusetts; and Staff Sgt. Brian Cody Prosser, 28, of California were killed by "friendly fire" when an Air Force B-52 bomber missed its target and landed near the position of U.S. troops north of Kandahar. Davis, 39, was a Green Beret with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Unit of the U.S. Army.
   The family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. Monday in the school gymnasium and at the home of Lon and Linda Davis, 570 Watauga Road.
   A full military funeral is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elizabethton High School, with the Rev. Dae Hyuk Kang and Msg. Monty Flanigan officiating. Davis, a football and basketball player at Elizabethton High School, graduated in 1981.
