Lubes Now offers much more than oil changes.
"We have the most comprehensive full service oil change that is in the Tri-Cities area," said Gwen Kyte, who along with her husband, James Kyte, own Lubes Now, 210 Broad St. A full-service oil change will take approximately 15 minutes.
"We check all the fluid levels," Kyte said. "We top off anything that is low. That could be brake fluid, power steering fluid, anti-freeze, anything that is low, we top it off at no additional cost to the customer.
"We vacuum out all the vehicles, and we make sure that we gauge their tires and we put in the appropriate tire pressure. We wash the windows for them." Customers are informed about any problems that have been discovered.
"We do pre-service checks before we even drop the oil in the car when it comes into the bay," Kyte said. "We make sure that we check to see their oil level. If it's been using oil, we let them know if their oil level is low before we ever start a service on it.
"We try to check all the fluids beforehand so we can let them know and recommend things that they may need prior to even doing the service. After the service is complete, we provide safety checks on the car. We do a tap system with every cap that we've had off. We make sure that we touch each one, that the cap is back on it. We do a safety check with the person who is in the pit and with the person who is under the hood. They check to make sure that the oil filter is tight. They make sure that the drain plug is tight, and they put what is called a Temper Seal on the drain plug. They make sure that is on there so that if anyone else touches it, we know that it has been touched after we have serviced it."
Fleet accounts are offered at Lubes now. "We do provide fleet services," Kyte said. "We have several accounts right now. Any business that has two or more company vehicles can have a fleet account with us."
Transmission and radiator services, as well as Serpentine belt changes, are also available at Lubes Now, which will top off fluid levels between services for regular customers.
Lubes Now, which also has a location at 927 W. Market St., Johnson City, is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, call 543-8037 or e-mail gkyte@comcast.net.
