Lowe's Co. posts gain on stock

 Lowe's Companies (LOW:NYSE) saw its stock price climb more than 40 cents per share from its opening price in Tuesday trading.
  The company's stock was trading at $57.16 per share -- a 40-cent jump from the day's opening price of $56.75. This sentence may be changed on the page after the market closes at 4:30 p.m.
  The Mooresville, N.C.-based company operates 952 stores in 45 states. The company's new home improvement store in Elizabethton is scheduled to open Jan. 3.
