"I'd like to wish everyone a very 'Merry Christmas,'" said Kim Hughes, the owner of the Klutterd Kloset, a consignment store and gift shop.
"God bless all the troops and their families, especially the 278th. And in this busy time of the year, please don't forget the reason for the season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
"Come in for the holidays," said Hughes. "There are lots of gifts and accessories that you could find, a unique gift for somebody on your Christmas list."
Santa is expected to make a stop at the shop in the near future. "Santa Claus hasn't been here yet, but I hear that he is going to be on his way to bring a lot more goodies for the store," Hughes said. "He'll be here before Christmas Day."
Klutterd Kloset's look is definitely uncluttered. "Everybody brings their clutter here, and we take care of their clutter and turn their clutter into cash for them," said Hughes.
Klutterd Kloset "is an all-round general store," said Hughes. "There are different things, something unique and something for everybody."
The shop sells clothing for both old and young, according to Hughes. "There's a little bit for everybody," Hughes said. "It doesn't single out anybody. We have a large selection of plus-sized clothing."
Klutterd Kloset also has new items and jewelry, as well as purses and other accessories. "I have a lot of sterling silver jewelry, a lot of watches, the newer watches that are coming out," Hughes said. "After the first of the year, we're going to be doing home decor, like the antique primitive type things."
Hughes is now accepting fall and winter clothing on consignment. "The clothes need to be in good condition," she said. "They need to be cleaned or dry cleaned without spots or stains, without any kind of damage to the clothing."
Hughes describes the shop's atmosphere as "very friendly, very warm and homey, some place where anybody could feel comfortable coming in."
The shop, located at 1970 W. Elk Avenue, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
